Fox Lane ace Tyler Renz may not have had his best stuff on the mound early on Thursday. But he certainly showcased for the scouts in attendance to fight through it in another strong outing.
Renz, a senior right-hander committed to St. John’s University, struck out nine, walked one and scattered four hits in 6 1/3 innings, leading Fox Lane to a 4-2 win on the road against a patient Mamaroneck team.
Highlights:
In front of a small group of scouts and media, Renz allowed two earned runs. While he worked deep into counts and topped 100 pitches for the first time this season, he gutted his way into the seventh inning before Logan Provost came in for the save.
