Two of the five Section 1 Baseball champions are still alive in the NYSPHSAA Playoffs, as Ketcham and Eastchester look towards Regional Final games tomorrow.
Nanuet, Croton and Tuckahoe all saw their seasons come to an end yesterday in Subregional play.
NYPSHSAA TOURNAMENT BRACKETS: State Tournament Brackets
Class AAA Subregional Ketcham 11, Corning 0: The Storm held a 1-0 lead before exploding for a 7-run 4th inning, lead by a Riley Weatherwax 3 run home run. Ketcham would tack on 3 more in the 5th, including a 2-run bomb by Ole Miss commit Owen Paino. Ryan Mealy held the Hawks to no runs and 2 hits over 5 innings before the Storm secured the mercy rule win.
Class AA Subregional Eastchester, Bye
Class A Subregional Maine-Endwell 4, Nanuet 2: The Golden Knights season came to an end yesterday in a thrilling 4-2 extra inning loss to Maine-Endwell of Section 4. Pace commit Aiden Kempf was absolutely sensational once again in the loss, throwing 8.1 innings, allowing 1 ER on 3 hits, and striking out 16 before hitting the pitch count limit.

Next game: Regional Final – Ketcham vs. Newburgh Free Academy (Section 9), Saturday at 4 pm at SUNY Purchase
If Ketcham wins, the defending state champs will face the winner of Section 2’s Shenendehowa and Section 3’s CBA-Syracuse in the State Semifinal.
