Ardsley makes history with first ever girls basketball state title

Ardsley’s defense was dominant once again in a 39-28 win over Section 8’s Wantagh in the NYSPHSAA Class A girls basketball championship game last night in Troy. The Panthers caused 17 turnovers, has 8 steals and 5 blocks on their way to the first state title in program history.

St. Bonaventure commit, Iva Corluka had 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks to lead the way for Ardsley, while senior guard Joie Levy added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals in the win.

Ardsley’s defense was outstanding throughout the entire state tournament, holding opponents to just below 31 points per game.
