Ardsley, Tuckahoe girls dominate in regional basketball

Two Section 1 girls teams took the floor after winning Gold Balls last week at the Westchester County Center. And both earned trips upstate with lopsided victories.

Ardsley got ahead by 17-0 and rolled past the Section 9 champions, 76-40, on Tuesday at Yorktown High School in the NYSPHSAA Class A Regional Semifinal.

Iva Corluka posted 27 points and 19 rebounds. Leah Burriss added 17 points and 11 boards and Joie Levy contributed 13 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Tuckahoe beat Pine Plains, 59-24, in a Class C Regional Final at Mount St. Mary’s College in Newburgh behind another balanced effort.

It’s the second straight trip to the NYSPHSAA Final Four for Tuckahoe, which will next play on March 20 in the state semifinals at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.
