Virginia Tech commit Marcel Kulik threw four no-hit innings, allowing one earned run, while St. Joe’s commit Matt Fitzgibbon closed out the final three innings with no earned runs to carry the Gaels to a 6-2 win over visiting Fordham Prep. Miami commit Devin Diaz contributed 3 RBI, while Julian Guzman went 2-2 and scored two runs.
Iona is a team loaded with Division One talent and is currently sitting atop the CHSAA standings at 8-0. The Gaels look like a team poised to make a deep postseason run, with no need for extra motivation following last year’s Championship loss to St. Peters.
