Impactful Rules for 2025
- 7-2-4 (NEW): Only captains may speak with referees between periods unless beckoned.
- 12-4-4: Head coach may be warned/cautioned/ejected for team/bench misconduct; reinforces responsibility for bench decorum.
- Point of Emphasis: Shin guards must be age/size-appropriate with NOCSAE seal; officials will inspect and enforce.
- No Overtime in Regular Season (Section 1): Games end at 80 minutes; OT/PKs used only for postseason advancement.
- 2024 NFHS Clarifications:
- 4-1-4d: No color limit on tape/socks at or below the ankle; above the ankle must match sock color.
- Rule 12 re-organized: Clearer language on fouls/misconduct, SPA, and DOGSO application.
