The final two weeks of the season in Section 1 girls basketball has featured breakout performances, led by Ossining’s Claire Schnecker and Ursuline’s Sophie Nascimento.
Both have carried their squads over the past week, earning one of KDJ’s “5 Stars of the Week” by GameDay One.

Nascimento continues to be one of the most gifted play-makers in the Section, which she showcased again on Monday with a 29-point, 12-rebound effort in a win over Suffern.
Schnecker led the Pride to a 3-0 week, scoring 71 points combined in this contests.
Other members of the “5 Stars” for this week include:
Tyalia Fret-Thom, the star senior for defending Section 1 Class AAA champion RC Ketcham. She averaged 17 points and seven rebounds in four games last week.
Pearl River standout Kelsey Miedreich reached 1,000 career points this past week, and highlighted her efforts by scoring 33 points and collecting 20 rebounds in a win over Nyack.
And Kendall Konigsberg continues to carry Blind Brook. She scored 30 points in both games last week.
