Ursuline’s Sophie Nascimento capped off a stellar junior season by being named Section 1’s Ms. Basketball, which was announced at the recent Section 1 Girls Basketball Awards Banquet presented by the Coaches Association.
Leading the pack in representation on this year’s All-Section list was State Champ Albertus Magnus, with senior Allie Falesto and sophomore’s Julia Scott and Maddy Zuppe earning spots on the team.
Albertus Magnus wasn’t the only school with multiple honorees as Harrison, Ursuline, Panas, Ardsley, John Jay East Fishkill (JJEF), North Rockland, Ketcham, and Pearl River each boasted two players on the All-Section list.
The future has never been brighter for Girls Basketball in Section One with an incredible 21 of the 41 honorees being Sophomores and Juniors. The County Center will have no shortage of star power next year and we can’t wait.
