The Pleasantville boys and girls each used decisive wins this week over Haldane to work their way up the Class D Bracketology standings. The girls defeated Haldane 19-4 on Wednesday for their third straight win before the boys rolled past the Blue Devils 16-10 on Thursday.
The Panthers girls improved to 5-2 on the season and sit in fourth place in the latest Bracketology standings, which you can view here.
Pleasantville’s boys squad improved to 5-0 in Section 1 play and remain the clear front-runner in the Class D postseason race.
Nick Reich had five goals in the win, including the 100th of the career for the standout junior.
Daniel Picart scored four and had two assists while Erik Coleman registered three goals. Hank McCourtney had a goal and four assists.

On the girls side, Pleasantville’s offense was clicking on Wednesday, as 75% of their 19 goals were assisted in a 19-4 win over visiting Haldane.
The Panthers had an incredible five players with Hat Tricks, with Faith Brown leading the way with 4 goals and Ella Collins, Erin Drillock Ella McCourtney and Rowan Capko adding 3 apiece.
Collins and Drillock also showed their unselfishness with 4 assists each, while Maddie Becerra dropped 3 dimes in the win.
Bronxville is still likely the team to beat, but Pleasantville hasn’t lost to a Class D opponent and has scored an average of 17 goals per game over the last week. The Broncos and Panthers don’t meet in the regular season, but this is a matchup we wouldn’t be surprised to see late in the playoffs.
