Sleepy Hollow dual sport star Evelyn Nelson earns this week's ConEdison Scholar Athlete of the Week Award

Congratulations to Evelyn Nelson of Sleepy Hollow field hockey and lacrosse for earning the ConEdison Scholar Athlete of the Week Award!

Evelyn Nelson has been a consistent presence on the Sleepy Hollow turf for the last 5 girls lacrosse and field hockey seasons. The senior has left an indelible mark on her school as not only a 5 year varsity starter in both sports, but also as a captain for 3 seasons in field hockey and 2 in lacrosse.

Nelson has excelled on both teams, earning a total of 4 All-Section honors, as well as being named All-State in field hockey this past fall. A prolific scorer on the lacrosse field, Nelson eclipsed 100 goals as a sophomore and is closing in on 200 early in her final season.

The senior is also a standout in the classroom, maintaining over a 100 average while carrying a course load with 4 AP classes. She also holds multiple volunteer and mentorship positions as well as being her class treasurer for her entire four year of high school.

Nelson has been described as a disciplined, dedicated leader who exemplifies the meaning of a true scholar athlete.
