Mahopac overcame the lofty expectations as the playoff favorites on Monday. After a first-round bye, the Wolf Pac fought off a talented Suffern team, 4-3, in an all-around gutty effort.

Tyler Debrocky delivered hit two hits and two RBI and also went the distance on the mound for the victory. D.J. DeMatteo had the go-ahead RBI single in the fifth and made an incredible dive to cut down a runner at home plate in the sixth to preserve the lead.

Mahopac advanced to the Class AA semifinals on Wednesday where it will host No. 4 Eastchester, which had a 2-0 win at home on Monday over Harrison. The game will be streamed on LocalLive.
