Ursuline depth overwhelms Harrison as Koalas remain unbeaten

Sophie Nascimento continued her stellar start to her senior season and Ursuline showcased the young depth around her in a runaway victory over Harrison at the Westchester County Center on Saturday afternoon.

Nascimento posted 24 points, eight rebounds and seven steals in the 66-25 victory in the opening game of the William F. Plunkett Jr. Christmas Classic. Nascimento, who recently signed to play at Sacred Heart University, earned MVP honors.

Cate Croker had 10 points and eight rebounds and freshman Olivia Sliwa had nine points and nine rebounds as Ursuline improved to 3-0 on the season.

The Koalas have plenty of basketball during the break still to play. They are on the road at Ketcham on Monday in a game that will be broadcast on LocalLive.

Then they’ll part of the Albertus Magnus Holiday Tournament on Dec. 27-28. Ursuline takes on Panas in the first round and will face either Albertus Magnus or Clarkstown South the following day.
