Ursuline's Sophie Nascimento is the ConEdison Scholar Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Sophie Nascimento of Ursuline for taking home the ConEdison Scholar Athlete of the Week Award.

Last year’s Ms. Basketball, Sophie has been a familiar face on the Section 1 girls hoops scene, as the senior has been named All-Section and All-League the past three years. She was recently named 2nd team All-State for the 2023-2024 season and will be continuing her basketball and academic careers at Division 1 Sacred Heart next year.

Sophie’s influence in her community and school go beyond the hardwood, as she volunteers with multiple charitable organizations and is the President of Ursuline’s Angel Club.

Girls basketball in Section 1 has never been stronger, and Sophie is well aware of her position as a role model, volunteering huge amounts of time mentoring and training aspiring young hoopers in our area.

While we’re sad to see the end of an incredible career, we couldn’t be happier to have the chance to celebrate this special student-athlete.

Congrats again to Sophie on an amazing career and on winning the ConEdison Scholar Athlete of the Week Award!
