Wooters wins 700 as Ursuline's basketball coach

Beth Wooters was once an All-County multi-sport athlete at Ursuline in New Rochelle. On Saturday, she wrote another chapter in the legacy as the famed basketball coach.

Wooters led the Koalas to a 57-51 win over Tappan Zee at Irvington High School in the Autism Classic, earning her 700th career victory in her 40th season as the program’s coach.

Sophie Nascimento led Ursuline with 22 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Catie Croker had 11 points and eight rebounds and Lauren Brewster added 11 points.

Eve Girardi led Tappan Zee with 19 points and Kristen Phelan scored 17.
