Rye Neck softball star Shelby Preisser is this week's ConEdison Scholar Athlete Award winner

Congratulations to Shelby Preisser of Rye Neck for earning this week’s Con Edison Scholar Athlete of the Week Award.

Preisser has been a staple on the fields and courts at Rye Neck, playing four years of varsity softball, basketball and tennis for the Panthers.

Shelby has been a key contributor and team leader in basketball and is a three-time All-League tennis performer, but she has been downright dominant on the softball diamond. She was named All-State and All-Section last year and is hitting over .800 early in the season. On the mound, the senior has reached 200 strikeout’s in only her second season pitching.

Outside of her athletic career, Preisser is a leader in multiple school and community organizations and has spearheaded charitable efforts around pancreatic cancer and mental health awareness.

The senior standout carries an impressive course load of 5 AP classes and will be attending Haverford College to continue her softball career.

Congratulations again to Shelby on this well deserved honor!
