Fox Lane stuns Yorktown at home on Rudolph's last minute heroics

Fox Lane suffered an agonizing late loss in its opening last month to Mahopac. On Saturday, they made up for it with perhaps their biggest win in a decade.

Will Rudolph hauled in a John Czernyk pass with 13 seconds left for a 3-yard touchdown – and the defense batted down a Hail Mary as time expired – at the Foxes upset Yorktown, 28-25, in a wild game at home.

It was Fox Lane’s first win over Yorktown in the last 20 years in football.

Czernyk completed 18 of 33 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns. Rudolph hauled in 10 receptions for 158 yards and two scores, while the trio of Logan Mammola (3 rec, 48 yards), Mac Keller (3 rec., 58 yards) and Declan Connors (2 rec. 23 yards, rushing TD) contributed for the Fox Lane offense.

Rudolph had a team-high nine tackles, including one for loss. Keller intercepted a pass on defense and Mammola added seven tackles.

Fox Lane (2-2) trailed the entire way. The Foxes were driving in the final four minutes before Tyler Galante intercepted a pass for Yorktown inside the Huskers 5 yard line with under four minutes to play.

The Foxes forced a punt and drove down to the Yorktown 3 with Czernyk connecting with Rudolph on a first-down completion. Two plays later, Fox Lane scored the winning touchdown.

Yorktown nearly pulled off a miracle on the ensuing kickoff, which was returned to the Fox Lane 30. The returner stepped out at the 30 but nearly made it to the 3 yard line.
