Class B in Section 1 will once again employ the “Piner System” to determine its playoff seeds, with the Top 8 teams from the season qualifying for the postseason. Through four weeks, Westlake and Bronxville sit at the top of the standings with three games left to play.
To calculate the formula is simple:
- Take own winning percentage
- Add the combined winning percentage of the team beaten
- Subtract the losing percentage of the teams lost to
- Multiply that number by the predetermined “Multiplier” in the chart below
That final number will be a teams “Piner Index” for the season. The Top finisher will be the No. 1 seed and so on. The Top 8 teams after Week 7 will qualify for the playoffs.
