Ardsley edges Irvington 1-0 thanks to a wild defensive play and a PK save

Ryan Nejad was the hero for Ardsley in Tuesday’s season-opening win at home. The goalkeeper assisted on the lone goal, blocked a penalty kick with five minutes to play and then withstood a barrage of shots in the final minutes to hold for a 1-0 victory over Irvington at home.

Nejad fed Cillian Reid for the Panthers goal midway through the second half to snap a scoreless tie.
