Arlington Delivers Scarsdale's First Loss in 47 Matches

Following a disappointing loss to North Rockland to open the season, Arlington shocked the Section 1 soccer community and delivered 2-time defending State Champ Scarsdale their first loss in over two years. The 2-1 win ended a remarkable 47 game unbeaten streak by the Raiders, and gives hope to the rest of Class AAA that things might be more wide open than usual.

The Admirals goals were scored by Dylan Manriquez and Anthony Cocca, with Cocca’s game winner coming with about 15 min to play. Reigning Section 1 Player of the Year Lorenzo Galeano scored in the defeat for Scarsdale. Arlington Goalkeeper Zach Butts held off several late shots from the Raiders and was strong in net the whole game.

Scarsdale looks to bounce back tomorrow on the road at North Rockland while Arlington travels to Ossining to try to keep the momentum going.
