The NYSPHSAA Girls Volleyball Championships take place this weekend, with Section 1 being represented by John Jay-EF in Class AAA and Blind Brook in Class B. The state format has all four semifinal teams playing each other in pool play starting with AAA, AA and D on Friday afternoon and A, B and C on Saturday morning. Pool play results determine final matchups, which will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
Both Section 1 squads face teams from Long Island in their first matches of pool play. JJEF kicks things off against Section 8’s Ward Melville on Friday at 2pm, while Blind Brook faces Oyster Bay on Saturday morning at 8am.
