Blind Brook boys deal Dobbs Ferry road defeat to improve to 7-0

Blind Brook inserted itself into the conversation of Class B title contenders by beating Woodlands before the holiday break. On Tuesday, the Trojans reinforced it.

Tyler Taerstein posted 25 points and nine rebounds and Blind Brook connected on nine 3-pointers to defeat Dobbs Ferry on the road, 65-49, in a Section 1 matchup.

Blind Brook broke the game open early in the third quarter with a big run, going up by as many as 20 points, to improve to 7-0 on the season.

The Trojans also kept Dobbs Ferry star Anthony Ficarrotta in check, although the junior guard did reach a career milestone in the contest. Ficarotta hit a 3-pointer late in the second quarter to eclipse 1,000 career points.

Ficarrotta, who needed 13 points entering the game, finished with 23 and 21 rebounds in the loss.

Noah Brookman, a senior guard, scored 17 points with six rebounds and three assists for Blind Brook. Nico Palacios scored seven.
