Blind Brook Girls Volleyball makes history with first state title

The Blind Brook Girls Volleyball team rallied to win three straight sets to claim the NYSPHSAA Class B State Championship yesterday in Glens Falls. The Trojans had lost the previous day to Westhill in Saturday’s pool play, but took down the Wolf Pack 3-1 in the state final on Sunday.

Blind Brook was lead on offense by Fernanda Julian’s 41 assists and 23 and 20 kills respectively from Ella and Oriah Rosenfeld. On the defensive side, the Trojans had double digit digs from both Rosenfelds as well as Maria Gracia and Georgina Haas. Maddie Hirsch and Ella Rosenfeld both contributed 3 blocks while Tanisha Venkatapur blocked 2 shots.

This is the first state title for Blind Brook since the 2004 Class C Boys Basketball championship team.
