Brice comes back, Tuckahoe returns to top in Class D

Connor Brice scored five touchdowns during the regular season for Tuckahoe. They all came in the first game of the season before he broke his right thumb in the fourth quarter. Brice hasn’t played since.

The junior quarterback returned just in time for the Tigers. Brice ran for two touchdowns and threw another, leading Tuckahoe to a 28-0 win over Haldane in Friday’s Section 1 Class D Championship at Mahopac High School, avenging last year’s defeat in the final.

Brice ran for 118 yards and passed for 78 in the victory, which lands Tuckahoe in the NYSPHSAA Quarterfinals. The Tigers (6-3) will take on Section 9’s Burke Catholic at 4 pm on Friday at Arlington High School.

Declan Connolly had 120 yards of total offense while rushing for a touchdown and catching another.

The win put Tuckahoe into the state tournament for the 18th time.

Jerry Casson had three sacks for Tuckahoe and Thaddeus Curylo added two.
