Harrison defense dominates again, shuts out Eastchester for fourth in a row

Harrison knew life wouldn’t be easy when they lost running back Joe Crupi to a foot injury in Week 2. The Huskies would need to find new ways to win.

They’ve now won four games in a row thanks to a defense that ranks among the most dominant in Section 1. On Sunday, the unit extended its scoreless streak to 10 quarters with a commanding 24-0 shutout of visiting Eastchester to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Artin Balidemaj and Damian Nikollaj again paced the defense but dominating on the defensive line for Harrison, which followed up last week’s 7-0 win over Clarkstown North with another shutout.

Harrison has allowed only 46 points in five games this season, which is the third fewest in Class A behind Brewster (21) and Rye (41).

Jack Badner passed for 95 yards and the first two touchdowns on his career for the Huskies, while also rushing for 70 yards in the win.

Dante Lanza had a rushing and receiving touchdown and Matt McCoy caught a pair of passes for 48 yards and a score. Mike Olsey led the rushing attack with 68 yards on 13 carries.

Harrison, which reached the Class A final last season, has its most difficult tests of the season ahead. They travel to two-time state champion Somers on Sunday in a rematch of last year’s Class A final. They then close the season on Oct. 26 against arch-rival Rye on the road.
