McCoy, Harrison defense overwhelm Fox Lane in Class AA playoff win

Harrison’s rugged defensive style that became their trademark in the regular season was on full display in Saturday’s playoff victory.

The ninth-seeded Huskies held No. 8 Fox Lane to just 11 first-half points en route to a 54-32 victory on the road in the first round of the Section 1 Class AA playoffs.

McCoy paced the offense with 22 points and three steals. Ben Ptashnik added 17 points while Joe Crupi added five points and five assists.

Harrison (13-8) earned a spot in Thursday’s Class AA quarterfinals. The Huskies will go over the bridge and face top-seeded Tappan Zee.

Fox Lane junior Arthur Shevick scored a team-high nine points in the loss.
