Reigning champ Byram Hills rocks Nyack in home opener

Zach Efobi provided some thunder and Byram Hills rolled over Nyack in its home opener on Wednesday, improving to 3-0 on the boys basketball season.

Brody Ceisler scored a game-high 21 points, including four 3-pointers, and Efobi threw down a pair of thunderous dunks as the defending Section 1 Class A champions cruised to a 58-38 victory.

Byram Hills opened its season by winning the Briarcliff Tournament over the weekend, defeating Nanuet and Briarcliff by a combined 35 points. Ceisler had 40 points in the two games, earning MVP honors.

The junior guard stayed hot on Wednesday, leading the charge on both ends of the floor as Byram Hills completely overwhelmed Nyack on the defensive end, as well.

Chris Amenedo added 10 points, five assists and five steals. Efobi, a 6-foot-5 senior, had seven points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in the win.
