Scarsdale’s Senior captain Jake Sussberg was selected by the Lower Hudson Basketball Coaches
Association as the best player from the 2024-2025 season. He was also the recipient of Con Ed
Student Athlete of the Week in mid December. The Princeton commit led the Raiders in scoring
averaging 29.8 points per game along with 10 rebounds. He shot a blazing 40% from 3 point
range and led the Raiders to the 3 seed in the Section 1 playoffs.
Sussberg and the Raiders found themselves in the Class AAA Semifinal playoff game against
New Rochelle where they unfortunately came up short, but Sussberg’s season will be
remembered for years to come. He ended his four year stint with varsity as the second all time
leading scorer in Scarsdale history with 1,535 points and their first ever Mr. Basketball.

Congratulations to all the other nominees on their amazing seasons as well
Jake Pampolina, Suffern
The junior guard eclipsed 1000 career points in January and not long after he became the all time
leading scorer in school history. He averaged 24.5 points per game and led Suffern to the Class
AAA quarterfinal.
Will Plunkett, Mamaroneck
The junior forward helped lead Mamoroneck to the first seed in the Section 1 playoffs. Plunkett
averaged 17.5 points per game along with 12 rebounds per game.
Malik Gasper, New Rochelle
The Huguenots senior forward averaged a staggering 20 points and 15 rebounds per game.
Gasper led the charge as New Rochelle prompted a 19-6 record in the league and took home the
Gold Ball for the first time in 12 years.
Brandon Burrell, Mamaroneck
The 6’2 junior point guard lit it up from behind the arc shooting a staggering 42% from three
while averaging 19 points per game. Along with teammate, Will Plunkett the two juniors put the
league on notice this year and will certainly be coming for that gold ball next year.
Tavien Tyler, Mount Vernon

game and earned his second First Team All LHBCA.
