Somers one step away from first state title after dominant semifinal win; Video highlights

After a somewhat slow start, Somers turned on the jets to earn an eye popping 27-6 win over Maine Endwell in the NYSPHSAA Class C semifinals yesterday at Middletown High School.

Sophomore Tristan Iglesias was huge once again for the Tuskers, finding the net six times along with one assist. His big brother Miguel also added seven points with four goals and three assists. Matt Mayfield continued his dominance in the face off circle, winning 22 of 28 FO’s while also dishing out two assists.

Somers moves on to the NYSPHSAA Class C Championship on Saturday, June 14 at 10am against Section 3’s Jamesville-Dewitt at Hobart College in Geneva.
