Yorktown fights off Greeley's upset bid, wins Class B crown

Horace Greeley upset Somers on the road in the Section 1 Semifinals last week. And the Quakers had a three-goal advantage in the first quarter on Wednesday against top-seeded Yorktown.

The Huskers, however, would not be the latest victim in Greeley’s unlikely run through the postseason. They Section 1 powerhouse used a furious three-goal run in the final minute of the second quarter as momentum for a 13-9 victory in the Class B championship at home.

The win marked the 42nd Section 1 title in school history for Yorktown, which improved to 14-5 on the season.
