Somers, Rye, Harrison, Yorktown and Mahopac place multiple athletes on Class A All State teams

The NYSSWA All State lists for large schools were released yesterday, and three-time defending state champion Somers headlined the first team honors. Senior QB/DB Miguel Iglesias was named Class A Co-Player of the year, while Mason Kelly and Dean Palazzolo also found themselves on the first team list.

Rye’s Jake Kessner was the other Section 1 name on the first team, with the Princeton commit earning honors on the defensive side of the ball at LB.

Somers lead the way with five total All State players, with 4th team honors going to senior Ben Harris and 5th team honors going to senior Brett Kennedy.

Rye was next with three All State players. Senior RB/DB Chris Iuliano, who will be heading to Notre Dame for lacrosse next year earned second team honors on the defensive side of the ball. Junior QB Carson Miller was named to the 5th team.
