Gonzalez and Worden lead Yorktown to home win over Rye

Yorktown ended a two game losing streak and moved to 4-2 on the season with a 48-45 win at home over Rye on Wednesday.

Senior guard Kaden Gonzalez lead the Huskers with 14 points and 6 rebounds while junior added a balanced effort with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Ryan Duffy also contributed 11 points for Yorktown. Rye senior Jake Kessner paced the Garnets with 17 points.

The win puts Yorktown in a tie for 5th in the current Class AA playoff standings while the loss drops Rye to 3-3 in Section 1 play, and a tie for 10th.
