The ConEdison Scholar Athlete of the Week Award has been a staple in the lower Hudson Valley for nearly 75 years and GameDay One could not be more excited to launch our new partnership with ConEd to raise awareness around this prestigious honor for local athletes. Each week we’ll be helping ConEd announce their winner with an article here on GameDayOne.com and posts across our social platforms.
Our first ConEdison Scholar Athlete of the Week announcement for GameDay One is boys basketball star James Apostolico of Putnam Valley. The senior guard has lead the Tigers this season with 25.7 points, 4 assists and 6 rebounds per game, and recently reached the 1,000 point milestone (video on IG below)
A leader both on and off the court, Apostolico is heavily involved in Putnam Valley youth basketball, assists with local fire department events and community cleanups, and recently was chosen as his school’s representative in the Section 1 leadership conference. The senior also has excelled in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society, maintaining a 93+ average.
