Media Day: Somers Turns The Page, Builds New Identity

Somers has established themselves as one of the premier programs in New York State over the last decade. They’ve won back to back Class A State Championships and were one point away in 2021 from already holding a three-peat in hand. They return a core of skill position players that rivals any team in Section 1 would be envious of, but the key to the program’s success is turning the page each year.

Building a new identity can be challenging, even for a reloading machine like Somers. In our Media Day interview, Coach Anthony DeMatteo talks about the importance of blending veterans with newcomers to create lasting success.
