SCARSDALE
Alex Leroy RT, Liam O’Neil C, Josh Potters LG, Leo Green RG, Arbri Gjyriqi LT, Anders Burrows TE
The Raiders are for real. While they have an array of talented backs, the line is moving defenses off the ball the way no Scarsdale team has done in some time. The Raiders overwhelmed Scarsdale at the point of attack for an eye-opening 35-14 road victory on Friday where the offense ran for five touchdowns and move the ball up and down the field all night.
YORKTOWN
LT: Dennis Mitchell LG: Luke Hanley C: Michael Desiderio RG: Art Krasniqi RT: Lucas Sabbouh
The offense has become quite a show to watch every Friday night. In the 49-14 rout of John Jay-Cross River, the offensive line paved the way for 505 total yards of offense – an almost even split passing and rushing – and QB Kaden Gonzalez rarely was touched, and not sacked once. Yorktown is going to compete for a section title this season because of the way this group has come along.
SOMERS
Ben Harris LT, Jaron Faulkner LG, Dillon Kuchinsky C, Matt Recine RG, RJ Pederson RT
The biggest question that two-time state champion Somers had entering the season was how the offensive line would be rebuilt. Those questions have been answered. And the Tuskers have done it as quantity, as well as quality. They routinely rotate in 10 players every games. Why? Because coach Anthony DeMatteo said “We have 10 guys who deserve to play.” That’s a nice luxury for a team we all knew was blessed with elite skill talent. Along with the five above, Hudson Ruby, Lorenzo Dambrosio, Ben Brenekmeyer, John Leary and Tom Monahan are all prominently involved.
VALHALLA
Danny Lynch, Luca Cavallo, Robert Riviezzo, Sean Morrison, Shane Theal, Winn Blitstein, Brady Teter Michael Roberto
The Vikings are 3-0 under first-year coach Danny DeMatteo following a 47-10 rout over Briarcliff/Hamilton on Friday. Valhalla pounded the ball behind this talented line, which also rotates in fresh bodies, to the tune of 564 yards and five touchdowns on 42 carries, averaging 13.4 yards per attempt. Valhalla had four different backs top 100 yards rushing, all with 10 carries or fewer.
